Illustrator Jan håkon Robson grew up between Tanzania and Norway, and it is there, in Norway, that he now lives and practices his art. Attached to craftsmanship, his work is resolutely “handmade” and he strives to constantly reduce the digital part in everything he does. He thus mainly uses pencil on simple sheets of paper, admitting a passion for printing patterns and subtle contrasts. When he is not drawing, he spends most of his time (like many other Norwegians) between the monotonous suburbs of Oslo and a small wooden cabin deep in a neighboring forest. When we offered him a collaboration, he was immediately attracted by the idea of doing something that would be very “French” for him. Wine, perfume, haute couture and the bow tie immediately came to mind. Thus, the exclusive poster he created for kulte is intended to be a very personal interpretation of classic French paintings from the 18th century (like those of Jean-Honoré Fragonard in particular). This drawing then served as inspiration for the creation of the 4 T-shirts in this Seed series. Simple and classic, they each refer to different details of the whole while presenting a slightly strange appearance.
