Portugal's choice for textiles

Our production model must be consistent with the principles of action of our brand, of which we must be proud and be able to explain the strengths.

This is why we have chosen 100% organic cotton for our t-shirts and sweatshirts.

For our collection of cotton products (t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, etc.), we have chosen to have them produced in Portugal, north of Porto, by specialized factories.

The reasons for this choice are mainly:

  • ethical and regulatory issues
  • the search for know-how in manufacturing
  • and the guarantee of excellent value for money.

It is a conducive working environment: Portugal is in the European Union as well as the Eurozone and respects all European standards, both on labor legislation and on product safety and quality standards. This quality is certified by independent labels. The social climate and businesses are stable there.

Beyond this sound legal framework, it is above all the quality of the production units which is recognized, built on ancient know-how. In fact, clothing is today one of the economic flagships of Portugal, supported by the Portuguese State, and represents 3% of the national GDP and 10% of exports. Portugal is today recognized as the country of knitwear, equal to Italy.

What about Certifications?

Our factories are OEKO TEX, GOTS & PETA certified for the production of t-shirts and sweatshirts

The cotton supplier is also OEKO TEX & GOTS certified

GOTS label

What are these initials?

  • G: global
  • O: organic
  • T: Textile
  • S: Standard

It is the most demanding international benchmark in terms of environmental and social criteria. It requires that cotton be cultivated according to the rules of organic farming but also that its processing be respectful of the environment and people (ban on heavy metals, bleaching with chlorine, phthalates and PVC, use of dyes and inks with low environmental impact, compliance with the social standards of the World Labor Organization, etc.)

Basically, GOTS is the top of the label!

OEKO TEX label

Öko-Tex is the first label aimed at guaranteeing the human-ecological qualities of textiles: free from toxic products or limit values, for the body and for the environment. It is an independent German association.

The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a globally standardized testing and certification system for all raw, semi-finished and finished textile products at all processing stages as well as for all accessory materials.

PETA label

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is a non-profit organization (with a global role) dedicated to establishing and protecting animal rights. For PETA, just like humans, animals are capable of feeling suffering and have an interest in having their own lives. They are therefore not intended to be used, whether for food, clothing, experimentation, leisure or any other reason. PETA and its supporters around the world educate politicians and the public about animal cruelty and promote the right of all animals to be treated with respect.

A PETA labeled factory therefore means that it respects the principles of the label, that it does not use animals or products of animal origin in their production.

Production outside Portugal

For our caps only, we have chosen China.

Our caps are made in China in a partner factory and have a human dimension. We select the finest materials and we group our transport with other French brands to limit our impact during transport.

The case of France

When we talk about a French fashion brand, the question of setting up production in France inevitably arises. Consumers are sensitive to national production, which promotes the vitality of the local economic fabric. We ourselves support brands that decide to manufacture in France. However, in the interest of the final price paid by our customers, France is not the best option for us.

However, for certain collaborations we produced 100% ORGANIC and 100% made in France. Our desire is to increase this share of our production each year.

PETA FACTORY

Our factories have the PETA label which guarantees respect for animals.

Made in Portugal

We chose European production, in Portugal, for its proximity, its know-how and its human dimension.

ECO FRIENDLY TREATMENT

Our products are subject to an Eco-friendly treatment, i.e. without the use of chlorine, ammonia and polluting dyes.
